Our Services
for Adults
As you work, play and maybe raise kids throughout your adulthood, you will find osteopathy the right move. Pregnancy care, sports management, exercise, lifestyle issues, injury prevention and treatment, chronic disease management – your osteo will work with the whole you to help keep you going or get you back on your feet.
Newborns
It is tough being a new parent and growing your family. Osteo’s are trained to assess and assist your bub in a very gentle hands-on approach for a wide range of conditions. We consider the various stresses and growth changes impacting the body since birth. Some of the condition’s parents bring their little one in for are tongue ties, torticollis, plagiocephaly, colic, reflux and growing pains. We also work with other healthcare providers to achieve the best outcome for you and your child.
Pregnancy
Up to 50% of pregnant women experience pelvic and back pain at some stage throughout their pregnancy. During pregnancy, the body undergoes mechanical, postural and hormonal changes which increase the load on your joints and your connective tissues in your pelvis and lower back. This can create tension, stiffness, and pain. During pregnancy, our osteo’s can provide manual therapy, exercise support and postural advice which encourages movement and reduces pain for the expectant mother.
Our Team
Dr Addison Levens
Originally from the UK, I graduated with a master’s degree in Osteopathy and a Postgraduate in Paediatrics in 2015 from the British School Of Osteopathy. In 2017 my wife and I decided to pack up our lives and head for the amazing lifestyle Perth, WA offers.
One thing I appreciate from my life is being able to help those in their times of need. Osteopathy has enabled me to fulfill my empathetic capability when treating those who experience acute or chronic pain. I am lucky enough to be able to help all ages from my youngest patient being 1 day old to my eldest patient of 101 years young! I do show special interest in assisting babies after birth and I also have experience treating pregnant women as well as looking after them in postpartum.
I find great joy in getting to know my patient’s goals and helping them achieve them through a whole-body approach. I will utilise various hands-on osteopathic techniques and I am also qualified in using other treatment methods such as K tape strapping and trigger point dry needling. I use different treatment modalities as I understand everybody is different and should be treated according to their own injury and experience.
In my spare time you’ll find me either at the gym trying to improve my fitness, at the beach for mindfulness, or laughing with mates when hitting balls into trees on the golf course!
Dr Luke Filling
I graduated as an osteopath from RMIT University in 2020 and worked as a CrossFit coach for 5 years whilst studying. During that time, I was lucky enough to see a wide array of movement patterns and advise people on how to prevent and recover from injury. These skills have stuck with me whilst working as an Osteopath in Melbourne and more recently Perth.
My interest in health and fitness stemmed from my own personal experience with injury when playing basketball at a young age, which led to a passion to help others enjoy their favourite activities pain free through osteopathic care. I believe the body works as one unit which is why I treat people as whole during my appointments.
My approach to providing care involves helping you achieve your goals with exercise and rehabilitation in combination with hands-on osteopathic treatments. Whether you are a desk worker, athlete or busy parent, I look forward to helping improve your health.
When I’m not at the clinic you’ll find me at the gym or on the basketball court trying not to look out of breath.
What is an Osteo?
Osteopathy is a hands-on manual therapy and uses a whole-body approach to care for patients. This is sometimes called biopsychosocial care, which means we consider biological (body), psychological (mental) and social (environment) factors that may affect your health and wellbeing.
Osteopaths use your individual medical history and environmental factors to understand the root cause of your pain to develop a personalised plan to help you manage your pain and move better. Medicines alone are not always the most effective way to treat pain. There are a number of self-care strategies that can help you to manage your pain and keep you active and doing the things you love.
Our Osteo’s are trained to identify an injury or persistent pain and offer a plan to improve symptoms and help restore the body’s self-healing and repairing mechanisms. They will review any injury or pain you have by looking at your entire biomechanics. This involves the study of how each part of the musculoskeletal system interacts with and influences every other part of the body as a unit, which is central to osteopathy. We recognise that each case of persistent pain is different and needs an individualised plan. This may include various management options such as advising patients on lifestyle, diet, stress management techniques and exercise/rehabilitation.
Please Note: Patients who have previously seen Dr Addison Levens within the last 2 years will still need to book an initial appointment. You will still only be charged the standard appointment rate.
Most Private health insurances are accepted but it is always best to ask your provider before coming in for your appointment. We can process this using our HICAPS trinity machine after your appointment, as long as you have the card with you If you do not have the card, full payment will be required, and an invoice will be sent to the email you provided to us. You will need to send this to your insurance provider.
